| April 2, 2015

The past couple of days have been lovely, the sunshine is wonderful!  Stock up on your local goodies just in time for Easter, come out and see us today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Salad Dressings & Whipped Butters Class

Want to learn how to make a few super-flavorful salad dressings for the upcoming “greens” season? Or, how about some whipped butters to top off veggies/meat off the grill or some homemade bread? Kristie Henderson and Marissa Mullett will teach a class featuring these two things on Thursday, April 16 from 6-7 p.m. Registration for the class is $10 and is required. Please register by e-mailing localbountycoshocton@gmail.com or signing up in the market. Samples will be plentiful, promise.

Hillbippie

Get out and enjoy the warm weather today if you can, between rains anyway 🙂  I have buttery, delicious, braided, challah in stock today.  Grab it quick, it is too good, I am sad to see it leave my house good!  Focaccia and French Boule are also on the shelves.  Don’t forget to grab a pack of tea or cute little mug.  Thanks again and Happy Easter!

Humble Bee Bakery

It’s been all about berries at the hive this week. You will find this theme throughout the offerings at my booth. The East bunny hopped by a lil early and filled my mason jar with a few chocolates – please help yourself!

Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes~ Vanilla cake flavored with fresh lemon zest, lemon juice & a lemon curd center. Topped with a strawberry buttercream made with fresh macerated strawberries.  Decorated with a piece of lemon. Pretty to the eyes and the palate.  Almond Raspberry Cupcakes~ Almond cake filled and topped with raspberry preserves. Dipped in slivered almonds then swirled with almond buttercream and a dollop of raspberry preserves. Almond lovers rejoice!

I’ve also added Strawberry Fields Bread to the menu; more macerated strawberry goodness baked in these lovely loaves.  You’ll also find Very Blueberry Bread – LOTS of fresh and plump blueberries folded in making this not only beautiful to look at but delicious to eat!  As always, thank you for your continued support.

I hope everyone has a joyous Easter holiday!

Keene Creek Farm

We brought home some baby chicks this week. Holding the boxes on the way home, Mairin (almost 6) told the chicks not to be scared – that we would take care of them. While Sylvie (2 1/2) held up a box, stuck her finger in it and said, “I want to TICKLE them.” So sorry chickies. On another note, we picked up a hog we had processed at Shirer Bros this week. We typically don’t use them but a couple of times a year – so we now have little piggies and cheese brats back in stock. Our Longhorn beef continues to sell well – we’d love to know what you think about it. Our market shelves are full of goodies for any foodie’s Easter basket – Aunt M’s Monster Mix (with dark chocolate M&Ms), Bar Stool Pretzels or Pizza Dough mixes. Easter Blessings to you all
