Local Bounty Update

| April 30, 2015

Good Morning,
It is grilling season and mother’s day is right around the corner, we’ve got you covered.  Mom loves LOCAL food and products, stop in today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Vendor Updates:

Rhubarb will be in the bounty Thursday morning.

Rue Farms will have their potato chips in store today!!

Flying Pig Farm
We now have Blackberry Jam! We’ve also restocked Blueberry and Red Raspberry. Our jam is made in small batches from hand picked berries that we freeze at the peak of freshness…our commitment to quality! Our Blueberry Scones continue to be popular. Dried Maine blueberries give them a burst of flavor in every bite! Our Wheat and Gluten-free Croutons will be used in the Salad Dressings and Whipped Butters Class this week. We’ve stocked up so you can take some home. They’re great for soups and salads and we’ve used them in place of bread to make breakfast casseroles. You can’t go wrong for $1! Try our gluten-free buns topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for a quick shortcake. It’s delicious! Like us at www.Facebook.com/OhioFlyingPigFarm for farm updates. Remember our plant list is available online and at the top of our booth. Reserve your heirloom plants today!

Hillbippie
Good morning from the hill!  I have some good news and some bad news.  Bad news is that I will be taking a break from baking breads for the time being.  I have decided to devote my time to my passion and love of becoming a potter.  You can find my newest pottery pieces in my booth.  I will be bringing more soon with some exciting new designs and forms.  They will be both useful and pleasing to the eye.  Thank you so much for you support and understanding during this time of transition.  Good news, a new tea is available, Chamomile!  Easy, simple but oh so fragrant.  Chamomile has a mild apple like scent and is instantly calming to the system.  Great as a tea, add it to your bath or even brew a cup and pour over your hair while in the shower.  This herb has a multitude of uses, google it or look on pinterest for inspiration. Again I appreciate your support and your desire to attain quality, local, homemade goods. You’re the best 🙂

Keene Creek Farm
Another market week is here. And, we are stocked and ready to help feed you and yours. We have restocked everything from ham loaf and bacon to brats and chops. This weekend is going to be perfect grilling weather. Have you tried grilling a pizza? If not, give it a go sometime soon. Grab one of our pizza dough mixes, invest in a special pan for your grill and have at it. Friday night pizza night will never be the same. Promise. Many thanks for your continued support of people like us. We truly love our community, love growing our own food, and love that our customers appreciate the fruit (or pork) of our labor so much.

Mill Creek Homestead
This has been a busy month for our family.  April 17-20 I attended the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild Conference held in Indianapolis.  The days were PACKED with classes teaching like: labeling your products, GMPs, advance swirling techniques in soap, and lotion formulations.  I also had the opportunity to take the certification test offered by the Guild and am proud to announce that I passed!  While I was gone, my wonderful hubby plumbed in a sink into my soap room.  No more back and forth to the kitchen!
The shelves at the Bounty are ready for your Mother’s Day shopping.  I have lavender gift boxes pre-made at the store, or you can message Mill Creek Homestead on facebook if you would like to order one with Mom’s favorite scent.

Thanks as always!
