Local Bounty Update

| June 18, 2015

Good Morning,

We hope you are staying dry out there.  Produce is popping up, we’ll have rhubarb, kale, basil and arugula!  Come see us Thursday and Friday 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Vendor Updates:

Flying Pig Farm

We have Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, Blueberry Scones and Caramel Hazelnut Sweet Rolls. Try our Sandwich Buns with one of your grill favorites, Garlic Herb Bread makes a great base for coldcuts and Cinnamon Raisin is a favorite for french toast! Easy summer meals start at Local Bounty!

Hillbippie

We sure are glad we will on a hill!  The rain has been nonstop but it will dry out eventually, right?  Your favorite teas are stocked at the market, make sure to try Jasmine Joy and Summer High Chai iced, they are quite refreshing!  I added a few new pottery pieces as well, remember they are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.  Visit my facebook page for pics!! Thank you, Peace 🙂

Keene Creek Farm

There is so much happening around our small farm these days. We brought home new feeder pigs this week So, right now, we have three batches growing. Our gilts (hopefully all bred now) and Mr. Blue are just hanging out in the sun and mud, getting fatter and growing piglets. The garden is coming along. We are trying hard to keep up with weeding – the rain is helping by loosening the roots, but it also makes it a super muddy mess to tromp through the rows. This week we have lots of kale and a couple of bags of sweet basil. We’ve been eating pesto for two weeks and I finally have enough to share beyond our table. Our sincere thanks for your continued support.

Strawberry Hill Farm
Rain, rain, go away! We’ve had more than enough. Weeds are taking over the gardens, and we can’t pull them out because it’s too muddy. We’re looking forward to some sunny, drying days. This week our strawberry jam is back at Local Bounty, fresh from this year’s strawberries. We’re also bringing arugula and eggs from our hens who roam freely on pasture. At least the grass is lush!

Thank you as always!
