Farm to Table Dinner: Save the Date, September 19
We are very excited to announce that this year’s Farm to Table Dinner will be Saturday, September 19 at Young Farms in Warsaw. Chef Bob McKenna has agreed cater the dinner again (who could forget that Shepherd’s Pie or Garlic Roasted Chicken from last year?!?). More details will be coming shortly (including how to reserve your tickets)

It’s hot, hot, hot! Instead of heating up the kitchen try some ham, potatoes and green beans in the crockpot. We have a couple bags of Yellow Wax and several bags of Royal Burgandy this week. Pretty purple beans turn green when cooked and we think they taste best out of all we grew this year. This will be the last week so get them before they’re gone! We also have a couple spare bags of kale and swiss chard this week. Look in our booth for a sweet treat…Cinnamon Rolls are making an appearance by request. Order your baked goods at www.Facebook.com/OhioFlyingPigFarm or email harmstrong333@gmail.com. Have a great week everyone!
Hillbippie
Pottery makes a great gift, even if it’s for yourself! All of my ware is dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer safe, how cool is that? Brew some Summer High Chai and pour over ice in one of my mugs, perfect!!
Mullet Apiaries
Summer is going full tilt and the bees are really buzzy in our garden! Like the bees, we are busy putting away the fruits of our labor – pickles, beans and soon, tomatoes. The beets are good too, and here’s a little serving suggestion: after you cook your beets and cool them slightly, either chunk or julienne them. Add orange or clementine segments. Take a tablespoon of honey, some orange juice and a little olive oil (adjust to your taste) and carefully fold into the beet/orange mixture. Chill. When ready to serve, add a few walnuts or pecans. A cooling salad on a hot day and so good for you! We still have some one pound decorative glass jars of honey available. As always, thank you for your patronage.
Thank you kindly!!
