Vendor updates:
Keene Creek Farm
We are now all stocked up on pork products – the bacon was finally done last week, so it is back in stock. I’m not sure if we shared this news via this update, but the man who owned/operated the butcher shop we primarily use was killed in an accident earlier this summer. We were unsure what this would mean for their family business and for us as customers. While business understandably got behind, we were finally able to get a couple of hogs butchered and in the freezer for you all. Our hearts are still heavy for the Miller family. But, we are grateful for the service they’re carrying on. We are winding down fall butcher this month and plan to just have one group of “fat” hogs growing over winter. Our little piggies that were bred and born on the farm are getting so big and a little less cute. 🙂 We so appreciate your support of our farm.
Mullet Apiaries
Our “girls” are finally bringing in some nectar for their winter stores. If this winter is anything like the last, they will need all they can gather. The cool weather is coming back this week, so how about some of Hillbippie’s flavorful teas with a spoonful of honey to sip or perhaps drizzle some honey and fresh butter on baked squash from one of our veggie vendors. We still have our pretty one pound glass jars available – they would make a great hostess gift for those fall football get-togethers! As always, we are grateful for all our customers.
