Lonny Robert Carter
Lonny Robert Carter, 67, of Newcomerstown passed away at 7:15 A.M., Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born July 28, 1946 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Robert Gather and Emma Marie (Cooper) Carter.
Lonny was a Truck Driver and Road Inspector for the City of Akron. He liked to fish and ride motorcycles. After becoming disabled the history channel on TV was a favorite pastime.
On May 20, 1993 Lonny married Shirley (Christ) Carter who survives along with sons Scott Carter of Galion, Lonny (Joyce) Carter, Jr. of Akron, daughter Charlotte (Mike Foley) Carey of Erie, Pa.; three step-sons Richard Haverstick of Newcomerstown; Alan Haverstick and David (Eva) Haverstick all of Akron, step-daughter Trina Carter of Maine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister Loraine Mills of Akron.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton. A Remembrance Service will begin at 8:00 P.M., Friday at the Free Funeral Home with Lloyd Tenney, Minister officiating. Cremation will follow.
