Lunchtime program planned at JH Museum
The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is proud to announce the return of monthly lunchtime programs. On Tuesday, Aug. 30 from noon to 1 p.m., “Meet Me at the Museum” will start. Bring a lunch or enjoy some snacks on the museum and gather together to discuss a new topic each time.
The first program will feature topics surrounding the current special exhibit, “Embellished: Adornment Through the Ages,” a showcase of embellishments and accessories in fashion history. Let us tell you about our favorite pieces and answer some of the common questions we hear about the exhibit. Were people really smaller back in the 19th century? Why did people make jewelry out of hair? How did women in China fit into such small shoes? How did adornment in fashion reflect human nature throughout history? Come to the museum to hear the answers to these questions and more.
No registration is needed. This program is offered at no charge and made possible by the support of the Ohio Arts Council. “Embellished” will be open to the public until Sunday, Sept. 18.
The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is located in Historic Roscoe Village at 300 N. Whitewoman St. in Coshocton. Museum hours are daily, noon to 4 p.m.
