SlaughterWARSAW – Lyndon E. “Lyndie” Slaughter, 63, of Warsaw died Monday, April 24, 2017 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 16, 1954 in Warsaw to the late George Erwin and Lillian Esther (Stockum) Slaughter.

He worked at Ansell Edmont for 39 years in Coshocton until the plant closing. Upon his father’s death he and his brother/best friend, John continued living on and operating the family farm raising beef cattle. He could most times be found in his garage repairing, welding, or restoring old tractors. He was a man of great knowledge.  Many times it would be said “Ask Lyndie” he knows how to fix anything.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Thompson) Slaughter, whom he married Feb. 14, 1976. Also surviving are his daughters, Bobbie (Scott Rizzolo) Slaughter of Warsaw and Tiffany (Chris) Wilson of Nellie.  Five grandchildren, Lyndsie Rizzolo (Colin DeJesu), Leelah Lewis, C.J. Rizzolo, Kadince Wilson, & Ameila Wilson. A brother, John (Linda) Slaughter of Warsaw. Four sisters, Judy (Larry) Wiley of Nellie, Joanie (Larry) Mikesell of Coshocton, Ada Rose of Warsaw, and Gayle Stevens of Coshocton.  Father-in-law, Paul Thompson of Coshocton. A sister-in-law, Donna Slaughter of Coshocton and a brother-in-law, Jay Kaufman of Gambier. Close friends, Ronnie Lawrence and Tim Shrimplin of Warsaw. His beloved dog, Maggie and many other friends and acquaintances.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Kaufman and a brother, Randy Slaughter.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw – www.fischerfuneralhome.com. A memorial service will be held at the family farm at a later date.
