Main Street Christmas Challenge begins

| November 30, 2020

While the Christmas parade had to be canceled for public safety, the tradition of the Main Street Christmas Challenge has begun.

As of this writing, more than 10 Main Street businesses have signed up to be part of the challenge. Their displays are ready for the public to enjoy and choose their favorite display. Voting is open on the Our Town Coshocton Facebook page through Monday, Dec. 21. “The winner will be announced with bragging rights on WTNS and be awarded a fabulous traveling trophy,” said Lanny Spaulding, executive director of Our Town Coshocton.

“When folks go to our Facebook page to vote, I would also draw attention to our weekly #ShopCoshocton video series. These are free promotional videos that we are filming to support our local Main Street businesses. We want to pull people from a digital platform to come into the stores, hear about special offers that our local shopkeepers have available, and learn a little more about our historic buildings,” said Spaulding.

Our Town Coshocton’s goal is to do everything possible to support local businesses by promoting them and carrying on traditions of the past.  The organization is non-profit and all of its projects are possible by dedicated volunteers. They want to encourage everyone to support local businesses and OTC’s effort to promote economic development on Main Street while still preserving our past.

“We hope the community will enjoy the Christmas challenge, participate on our Facebook page and shop local in the run up to the holiday season,” said Spaulding.
