Margaret “Ruth” (Workman) Halpin

COSHOCTON – Margaret “Ruth” (Workman) Halpin, age 88, of Coshocton, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018.

Ruth was born in Coshocton on August 13, 1929 to the late Fred and Anne (Campbell) Workman. After graduating from Coshocton High School, Ruth served in the Air Force for a short time and then went on to work as a secretary for Vitro Labs. Ruth was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. On April 12, 1952, she married Byron Halpin, who preceded her in death on March 30, 2005. 25 years ago, after Ruth and Byron raised their children in Rockville, Maryland, they relocated back to Coshocton.

Ruth is survived by three sons, Bruce (Andi), Scott, and Douglas Halpin, seven grandchildren, Rachel, Jonathan, Mykolas, Matiejus, Blair, BJ, and Brandon, one sister, Ann Lillibridge, one daughter-in-law, Audrey Butrimas, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Ruth is preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Charles, and Raymond Workman, and two sisters, Frances Workman and Martha Buker.

Per Ruth’s wishes, she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
