Mark E. Appis, 69, passed away peacefully on January 2nd, 2025, surrounded by his family at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

Mark was born the second of five children on July 21, 1955, to Richard and Joyce (Manning) Appis. Graduating in the Coshocton Class of 1973, Mark would go on to work at Young’s IGA up until their closing in 1984, and then would later spend over 25 years selling insurance at Western & Southern. In his retirement, Mark would spend his mornings having “meetings” with his friends at McDonald’s where they would socialize and try to solve the world’s problems.

He would marry the love of his life, Lynn Renee (Hardesty) Appis on June 17, 1984, where they would go on to spend 40 happy years together. Later having two children, Mark took pride in being a family man and would always seek to provide them with the best life he could give them. With his family, he enjoys spending many vacations at the beach, going to sporting events, having picnics, or even just staying in and playing Euchre or Rummy. He also spent Sunday mornings with his family at Burt Ave. Wesleyan Church where he was a long-time member.

Along with his wife, Mark is also survived by his children Ryan (Leah) Appis of New Albany, OH and Kelsee (Corey) Saylor of Coshocton, OH; a brother William (Denise) Appis of Coshocton, OH; sister-in-law Shelly Hardersty; brother-in-law Michael Hardesty; three granddaughters Kammi and Kennedi Saylor and Avella Appis; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by brothers Richard Appis & David Appis, sister Jonell, and brother-in-law Randy Hardesty, along with his grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
