Martha Elizabeth Young, 34 and her brother, Joshua Allen Jones, 26, both of Coshocton, passed away on Jan. 4, 2021.

Martha was born on Nov. 26, 1986 in Salisbury, Maryland and Josh was born on Aug. 12, 1994 in Coshocton, Ohio to George Jones Sr. and Merit (Gregory) Rutland formerly Jones nee’ Dryer.

Martha was a wonderful and loving mother to her four beautiful daughters. She enjoyed reading, music and being outdoors. She was very creative and enjoyed practicing Holistic and Reiki healing. She joined the United States Army in 2008 and served her country until 2009. She worked as a phlebotomist for several years.

Josh was passionate in everything he did in life. He loved everyone and was always willing to help someone out. He enjoyed boxing, writing music, singing and playing music. He loved being outdoors and worked with his family at Grandmom Minnie’s Munchies.

Along with their parents, George Jones Sr. and Merit (Gregory) Rutland, Martha and Josh are both survived by Martha’s four daughters, Nayerda Martin, Ayanna Martin, Minnie Young and Elja Young; their eight siblings, Sarah Dryer, George Jones Jr., Naomi Jones, Christopher Jones, Merit Anna Jones, Isaiah Jones, Verity Jones and Seth Martin; their grandmother, Hilda Dryer; the father of Martha’s two oldest daughters, Adreyan Martin; Josh’s girlfriend, Hali Waight and her children, Dennis Waight, Daniel Delarosa, Darius Delarosa, Daelin Delarosa, Damani Delarosa and Lyssa Acevedo ; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 from 2-6 p.m. at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, social distancing measures will be in place and there will be a limited number of people inside the funeral home at a time. We also ask that you please wear a facemask at all times for the health and safety of our guests and employees.
