Mary Lou Dovenbarger

COSHOCTON- Mary Lou Dovenbarger, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 8, 1938 in Coshocton Co. to the late Lewis E. and Eunice Irene (Hawthorne) Allen.  She was a 1956 graduate of Warsaw High School, and received her Master’s degree in education.  She taught First Grade at Pleasant Valley Elementary for 33 years.  She was also a real estate broker & appraiser, and a member of the Ohio Eastern Star.  She enjoyed traveling and gambling, especially at the dog track.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kenneth R. Dovenbarger of Coshocton, whom she married on Nov. 5, 1977; three children, Traci Lynn (Scott) Polston of Shelbyville, IN, Harold James (Paula) Dovenbarger of Cincinnati, and Kenneth Curtis (Lisa) Dovenbarger of Bloomington, IN; seven grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Allen of Dresden; and a sister, Carol June (Eugene) Bassett of Houston, TX.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Kathy Allen.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw with Pastor Ron Davis officiating.  The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
