Masloski shares reopening plan revision with Ridgewood board
The Ridgewood Local Board of Education held a budget hearing Jan. 7, at Ridgewood Elementary in the cafeteria with all members present. Treasurer Jay Tingle reported on the Tax Budget for Fiscal 2022. The organizational meeting followed. John Riebesell was elected president and Alan Folkert vice president. The oath of office was administered by Tingle.
Board meetings dates were set for the 2021 calendar year: Feb. 8 at RES, 6 p.m.; March 15 at RES, 6 p.m.; April 19 at RES, 6 p.m.; May 17 at RES, 6 p.m.; June 18 at RES, 7 a.m.; June 30 at ADM building, 8 a.m.; July 16 at ADM building, 7 a.m.; Aug. 16 at ADM building, 6 p.m.; Sept. 20 at ADM building, 6 p.m.; Oct. 18 at ADM building, 6 p.m.; Nov. 19 at RHS, 7 a.m.; and Dec. 17 at RMS, 7 a.m.
The regular board meeting held at 6:45 p.m. began with commendations to the board of education for board of education recognition month. All members were given a certificate of appreciation for their service. Superintendent Mike Masloski updated the board on the reopening plan revisions. Beginning Monday, Jan. 19 all Mondays will be teacher remote and preparation days. All students will return face to face on Tuesday thru Friday. Masloski also reported that sealed bids will be taken for some items being sold including two pianos, a leg press, a leg machine, and miscellaneous free weights. College Credit Plus MOU for 2021-2022 school year from Kent State University was approved.
The next meeting will be Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. at Ridgewood Elementary School in the cafeteria.
