McElroy taken by medical helicopter after accident

On May 13, 2021 at approximately 5:31 a.m. The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to an accident with injury on State Route 541 near Township Road 80 in Bedford Township.

Upon arrival of deputies it was determined that Andy T. McElroy, 22-years-old, of Coshocton was traveling east on State Route 541 near County Road 80 in a 2006 Chevy Malibu, when McElroy lost control of the vehicle going off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment before overturning several times.  McElroy was not wearing a seat belt as he was ejected from the vehicle. McElroy was then transported by medical helicopter to OSU Wexner Medical Center from the scene for the extent of his injuries. McElroy’s condition is unknown at this time.

Assisting the sheriff’s office on scene were the Coshocton County EMS, Walhonding Valley Fire District, MedFlight, and Prince’s Wrecker Service. This crash remains under investigation at this time.
