DRESDEN – Michael Alan “Mike” McKenzie, 66, of Dresden passed away on December 9 at Newark Care and Rehabilitation.

Mike was born in Zanesville on August 2, 1953 to Harold “Bud” McKenzie and Agnes Ramona “Mert” (Lacy) Adams.  He graduated from Tri-Valley High School, class of 1971 and served in the United States Army National Guard. Mike worked at AK Steel and retired from the AEP Picway Power Plant.  He loved spending time with his family & friends and neighbors. Mike was an avid Browns and Buckeye fan. He loved music and enjoyed riding his bike.

Mike is survived by his three children Erica (Dave) Boose of Galena, Ohio, Molly (Scott) Dunn of Nashport, Ohio and Gavin McKenzie of Leadville, Colorado; mother Agnes R. “Mert” Adams of Coshocton, Ohio; grandchildren Avery, Nora, Porter and Elizabeth; brother Pat (Jeanne) McKenzie of Warsaw, Ohio and nephew Jeremy (Mandi) Latham of Aiken, South Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his father Harold “Bud” McKenzie, his stepfather William “Bill” Adams and special aunt Cora Lacy.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday December 21, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Irene Scaramazza officiating.  Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will also be performing military honors. A Masonic service will be held at 9:45 AM.
