Miller celebrates largest economic development in Ohio’s history
State Representative Kevin Miller (R-Newark) highlights Intel’s Investment in Ohio. Intel, a semiconductor company, announced that they will be bringing the largest economic development project in Ohio’s history to Licking County.
State Representative Kevin Miller released the following statement on the announcement:
“This project will be instrumental in cementing Ohio as a state open to business and innovation on the largest scale. Intel is building a $20 billion semiconductor facility in Licking County, which will provide 3,000 direct jobs at Intel with an average salary of $135,000 for the citizens in and around the area.
“Ohio has proven itself to be a leader amongst Midwestern states in the tech and innovation sector and Intel’s investment proves to be a realization this largely untapped potential the buckeye state holds.
“It is imperative we produce semiconductor chips on United States soil. With over 80% of the current computer chips being made in Asia this investment into Ohio’s economy will solidify the movement to bring microchip manufacturing back to the United States.
“Licking County is beyond pleased to welcome this monumental investment as it is a wonderful opportunity to show the nation that Ohio is ready to position itself at the center of the nations advanced manufacturing innovation.”
