Milton M. Balcom
WILLS CREEK – Milton Monroe Balcom, 82, of CR 274, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 22, 1933 in Middletown, NY to the late Earl Monroe and Sarah Inez (DuMond) Balcom.
He served in the US Army from 1952-1957, receiving a Purple Heart during his service in Korea. He married Shirley E. (Hopkins) Balcom on May 24, 1970, who preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2008. He loved riding his 4-wheeler and his animals, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Barbara June of New York, Rita Gorzynsky of Toms River, NJ, Fred (Eleanor) Balcom of Waretown, NJ, Glenn Balcom of East Stroundsburg, PA, Milton “Bo” Balcom, Jr. of Dover, DE, Edward “E.J.” Balcom of Poconos, PA, Julie (Willie) Norfleet of Warsaw, Shatonya Burns of Wills Creek, Marty (Cody) Martin of Dresden, and Bonnie (Tom) Wright of Wills Creek, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Glenn Balcom, Jr., and three brothers; Nate, William, and Francis Balcom.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours are from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
