Mladek named CCCC outstanding student
The Coshocton County Career announced this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Career Center Student of the Year award during the career center’s passport ceremony that was held on May 19. This year’s award was presented to Carah Mladek, a natural resources student, and Ridgewood High School graduate by Cordell Brown (BOE Vice President) and Coshocton County Career Center Superintendent Matt Colvin.
To be nominated for this award, a student must have an attendance record of five days or less absenteeism during their junior year and their senior year at the career center. In addition to this, nominees must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and display the following: Self-motivated, be an active participant in the vocational organization of his/her field of study and show active and constructive involvement within the career center community.
Mladek was a student ambassador and a two-year member of the National Technical Honor Society as well as the President of the Career Center FFA organization. She has accepted a scholarship to play softball at Hocking College and plans to further her education as she pursues a degree in wildlife management with the goal of becoming a wildlife officer.
