Muskingum Valley ESC honors exemplary educators and aspiring administrators
ZANESVILLE – Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center (MVESC) honored 17 exemplary educators from school districts in Coshocton, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum, Perry and Tuscarawas counties and two aspiring administrators during the 2019 MVESC All-Counties Board Meeting.
Hosted at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers, the exemplary educators were each awarded a stipend to recognize their dedication to education and the children in the districts they serve.
The exemplary educators from Coshocton County were:
Stacey Ganz, Coshocton City Schools
Angela Smoulder, Coshocton County Career Center
Kim Kehl, Ridgewood Local Schools
Susan Stout, River View Local Schools
The educators’ nominations came from their home districts and were based on the following criteria: Demands high expectations for all students, is a role model for his/her students, represents the school district/community in a positive and supportive manner, and demonstrates a commitment to the teaching profession by participating in professional development that improves practice, collaborating with peers and providing leadership at the district and building level.
MVESC also honored one aspiring administrator from Coshocton County with a scholarship that will assist with administrative licensure coursework. The James W. Mahoney Aspiring Administrator Scholarship recipient was Todd Liberatore, River View Local Schools
Liberatore had to demonstrate the following criteria: Collaboration, help people work together productively on a collegial basis; Conflict management, help people deal with different viewpoints constructively; Confrontation, be frank about concerns while maintaining a positive working relationship; Excellent teaching skills, be a role model for instructional leadership; Diplomacy, excellent listening skills, interpersonal ease, emotional and intellectual maturity, openness and a positive outlook.
