Nancy D. Morton
Nancy D. Morton, age 87, of Coshocton, died Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Altercare of Coshocton. She was born October 27, 1937, to Hazel (Bloom) Burns in Du Bois, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
In 1958, Nancy earned her Diploma in Nursing from the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing and therefore began her career as a dedicated nurse for 50 years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Greenwich, Connecticut, and Coshocton, Ohio. While working in Pittsburgh, she met her future husband Ronald L. Morton. They married on March 18, 1966, at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He passed away on November 23, 1998.
Nancy was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church, as well as an avid Steelers fan. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, watching Jeopardy, and going to the beach. As a very quick-witted woman, Nancy knew how to have a good laugh with good friends over a good meal. In addition to friends and family, Nancy also loved spending time with her wire-haired dachshunds.
She is survived by her daughter, Jenifer Eubanks of Coshocton and cousin, Glenn (Carol) Hockenberry of Syracuse, NY. She is also survived by her good friends, Grace Millspaugh, Pat Miller, and Liana Taylor, and her son-in-law, Keith Eubanks of Coshocton.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, husband and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the Coshocton Elks Lodge with a Nightingale Nursing Honor Guard Service starting at 1:00 pm. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
Memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the Morton Family Nursing Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be mailed to The Coshocton Foundation, 220 S. 4th Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
