Nancy E. (Veatch) Buehler
Nancy E. (Veatch) Buehler, 96, of West Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born in Knox County on Jan. 2, 1926, to the late Charles and Ethel (Lease) Veatch.
She was a graduate of Union High School in May of 1943. After graduation, she began working for Tuscarawas-Coshocton Electric, now Frontier Power, from 1943 to 1951. The manager, Lewis Buehler, introduced her to his son, Raymond F. Buehler. Nancy married Raymond on Jan. 16, 1949. She then worked at First National Bank, now PNC Bank, where she was hired as head of general books.
She has always dedicated herself to give back to the community by being a Sunday School Teacher, director of Vacation Bible School, a 4-H advisor of Orange Blossoms and a Camp Ohio Counselor. She is a member of the Blue Ridge Grange and a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church. Her gentle, kind spirit has touched many lives. Nancy was a devoted Christian, loved reading and studying the Bible and was a prayer warrior, especially after Jeopardy at 7:30 p.m. She also enjoyed traveling to many states and countries including: Hawaii, Israel, Canada, Mexico and France.
Nancy is survived by her two loving children, Susan K. Buehler (Edward) Myers of West Lafayette and James F. (Jane) Buehler of Newcomerstown; six grandchildren, Cliff, Brooke, Zach, Jeffrey, Jennifer and Katherine; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Phyllis Veatch of Flint, Michigan and Rose Buehler of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Along with her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond F. Buehler, three brothers, Harrison, Dean and Jack Veatch, and one great-granddaughter, Cora Zvolanek.
Calling hours are Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. to noon at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Anderson and Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the American Heart Association or to the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
