New Christmas contest announced for Fresno zip code
If you enjoy Christmas decorations and have a Fresno zip code then this new contest is for you.
“One of my favorite holiday traditions will always be jumping in the car on a cold (preferably snowy) evening and driving around the countryside looking for light displays,” said Becky Frame from Toby Way Farm in Fresno. “Something about a well decorated home or farm puts me in the Christmas spirit faster than the best playlist of holiday hits. In case some of our neighbors feel the same way, we decided to host the first annual Light Up Fresno Christmas Light Contest.”
Residents of the Fresno 43824 zip code are invited to participate. To register send an email with your name, address (of the display to be judged), email address, and phone number to TobyWayFarm@outlook.com by Saturday, Dec 18. Local, impartial judges will come around to check out display Dec. 18-23, so make sure your lights are on.
First place will receive $150. Second will win $100, and third place will get $50. Prizes are sponsored by Fresno businesses Toby Way Farm and The Garden Patch Greenhouse.
“Once we have all the entries, watch the Facebook pages for Toby Way Farm and The Garden Patch Greenhouse,” Frame said. “We will announce a general route for the community to follow in order to see the best lights around. Specific addresses of participants will be withheld for privacy reasons, but we want everyone to have a path to follow for a fun family drive through Fresno’s festive hills.”
Winners will be announced on Christmas Day and will be contacted regarding their prize soon after.
“Make sure you email by Dec. 18, to be considered for judging,” Frame said. “We can’t wait to see your magnificent displays.”
