New restaurant to offer home style cooking and entertainment

| March 13, 2014

COSHOCTON – Dayle Ross likes Steve’s Famous Diner in Daytona Beach, Fla. so much that he hoped to someday open a restaurant like it. Ross’ dream will become a reality when The River Front Lounge opens on Friday, March 21.

The restaurant is located in the former home of Roberta’s Catering Banquet and Event Center at 51 Pine St.

The River Front Lounge will feature home style cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“We are going to have real mash potatoes and real hamburgers,” Ross said.

Majority of the menu items will cost $5-$10, with steaks being slightly more.

The upper level of the building will be used for the restaurant and the lower level will be rented out for special events. People also will be able to dine outside and Ross plans to bring in a variety of entertainment for his customers to enjoy.

Customers also will be able to view sporting events on the restaurant’s televisions and sip on Coke or Pepsi products.

Ross plans to operate the restaurant from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. He also will employ about 30 people who will help provide the public with a good dining experience at reasonable prices.

“There is no dress code,” Ross said. “I want this to be for the average person.”

The owner brags about the prices, ha it cost us about $50 for 2 people, the same price we usually pay at applebees. and as for the portion size they leave a lot to be desired also, the steaks were less than 1/2" thick which makes it hard to cook to order i.e. medium , my side of macaroni salad was less than a 1/2 cup and we had a appitizer of mozerella stick $4.00 for 4 pcs and the place is LOUD we set across the room for the only other people in the place and we could hear everything they said. WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.
