One vehicle accident reported on SR 229

On Jan. 6, 2022 at approximately 4:45 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call advising of a one vehicle accident on SR 229 about .1 mile from the county line.

Upon arrival of deputies, it was determined that Alajuwon Wood (27) of Mansfield was driving a 2020 Subaru eastbound on SR 229. Wood lost control of the vehicle and went off the left side of the roadway and hit a ditch. The vehicle continued down an embankment and then struck a tree. Shelby Ryland (24) of Mansfield was a passenger in the vehicle along with two small juveniles in car seats.  No one was injured in the accident.

Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, Walhonding Valley Fire District and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
