Our Town Coshocton plans Main Street Christmas event
COSHOCTON – Our Town Coshocton, in conjunction with the Salvation Army of Coshocton, will host the Main Street Christmas Event Dec. 14 – 15. Santa will be downtown to greet children in his house at the artPARK on Friday, Dec. 14 from 4 – 7 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 15 from noon – 4 p.m. Free cookies and cocoa will be provided.
Make-it, Take-it crafts will be available at no charge, while supplies last, on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at three locations: Coshocton Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Main Streets, Linnet’s Flowers on the Square, and Mercantile on Main, LLC. Also on Saturday, the Salvation Army’s gigantic red kettle will be on location, so be sure to bring some coins to climb the steps and toss inside! All proceeds benefit our local Salvation Army.
Sponsor participants will decorate 20 real Christmas trees starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the inaugural “The Giving Tree Event”. The decorated trees will remain on display for public viewing and voting from noon – 4 p.m. when the winners will be announced. All trees will then be delivered by the Salvation Army to local families with children.
The competition is intense between downtown businesses competing in the window decorating contest! Be sure to browse Main Street to choose your favorite window, then step inside and cast your vote! Ballots are available inside each participating location. The winner earns bragging rights, as well as a fabulously designed trophy to keep until next year’s contest.
