Outstanding seniors honored along with motivating teachers

ZANESVILLE – The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center (MVESC) recently recognized outstanding seniors in Coshocton, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum and Perry counties and the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District for their school and community leadership activities at the 29th Annual Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony at Ohio University Zanesville.

High school principals nominated outstanding seniors who had an exceptional academic record, were a leader in the school and community and were the recipient of other honors and awards. Each student selected one teacher, coach or advisor who served as a motivating influence during his/her educational career to also receive special recognition.

The Coshocton County outstanding seniors and teachers were:

Megan Stonebraker, Coshocton County Career Center and Coshocton High School: Stonebraker chose to honor her Cosmetology Instructor Darla Wagner.

Madison Miller, Coshocton High School: Miller chose to honor her gifted education coordinator Diane Schlegel.

Fred Doberstein III, Ridgewood High School: Doberstein chose to honor his math and Spanish teacher Jane Buehler.

Elizabeth Porteus, River View High School: Porteus chose to honor her agriculture education advisor Allyssa Mullet.
