Peonies a popular floral choice for brides
COSHOCTON – Peonies are a popular choice for brides who get married not only in the fall, but all year round. Although the flower is in season during autumn, it can be available in all seasons of the year, but the price might be a bit higher.
Linnet Lowe from Linnet’s Flowers on the Square said that in addition to peonies, other popular wedding flowers include garden roses, hydrangeas, and dahlias. She also said popular colors for weddings are blush pink, blush peach, burgundy, and blue.
Haley Ianniello from Haley’s Floral Studio said that florists try their best to accommodate the bride’s wishes and that if brides see something they like that doesn’t fit into their budget, the florist can try to find substitutes that are less expensive, but look similar to what the bride wants. She also said that DIY floral arrangements are very popular right now.
When it comes down to it, Edward Kiefer of Kiefer’s Florist said it all depends on the bride’s budget. A bride can have any flower whether they’re in season, out of season, or off season, but if a grower has to force the growth of specialty flowers off season, those flowers will be more expensive.
