Philip (Phil) A. Wagner

Philip (Phil) A. Wagner passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 in Coshocton. Phil was born on March 5, 1939, in Coshocton to Jacob and Catherine (Hahn) Wagner.  He was a 1957 graduate of Coshocton High School.

Phil founded Philip A. Wagner, Inc. in 1957.  He was a long standing supporter of the Coshocton community and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.  He was a master woodworker and made many beautiful pieces for family and friends.  He could also be regularly found “solving the world’s problems” with his coffee group at Hardee’s.

He is survived by his partner of 33 years Violet Myers, son, David (Jacque) Wagner, daughter, Shirley (Darin Welker) Wagner and brother Robert (Kathy) Wagner.  He is also survived by grandchildren Erin (Derek) Alverson, Elizabeth (Zach) McMorrow, Jason (Dana) Cushman, Phillip Cushman, Patrick (Bev) Cushman and many great-grandchildren, along with his long time secretary/”daughter” Joyce Manns and Violet’s children, Philena (Scott) Tracey and Bruce (Annette) Myers.

Along with his parents he was proceeded in death by his brother Gordon Wagner and grandson Justin Cushman.

Per Phil’s wishes, no services will be held and a memorial tree will be planted near Philip A. Wagner, Inc. in the spring.  Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Coshocton County Career Center Construction Technology and Electrical Systems Technology programs.
