Piano competition finalists picked
Auditions have been completed and the finalists for the 37th annual Edward E. Montgomery Jr. Piano Competition have been selected.
Junior division finalists are: Clark Frischen, son of Janelle and Steve Frischen, and Jensen Hayes, son of Melissa and Biff Hayes. The winner, selected from these finalists, will receive a $250 cash award from The Montgomery Foundation. There were no finalists selected from the senior division auditions.
On Sunday, April 6 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Roscoe Village Visitor Center Ivy Room, these local students will perform on the Montgomery Piano before a panel of five judges. Adjudicators representing Coshocton County Schools are Tom Havelka, Alan English, and Jane Crow. Those from the University community will be Dr. Harsha Abeyaratne from Muskingum University and Dr. Gerald K. Lee from West Liberty State College.
There is no admission charge and the public is invited to the competition final. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. with limited seating.
