Plan to make up snow days announced

| February 12, 2015

WARSAW – To this date, River View has missed 11 days of school for inclement weather. Five of these days were forgiven, leaving six to be made up. The school district will be using Monday, Feb. 16 and Thursday, April 2 as make-up days which left them four remaining days. They used Feb. 3 as a forgive day for students based on extra hours, while staff reported to work.

After working with their association and Board of Education, the following plan has been developed to address the remaining three days. This plan is based on the belief that obtaining additional classroom instruction is our most important objective.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 23 and ending Wednesday, March 18, they will add an hour of instructional time with students to the regular day. This will be done by adding 20 minutes in the morning and 40 minutes in the afternoon.

For High School, classes will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:10 p.m. For Junior High, classes will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:20 p.m. For elementary schools, classes will begin at 8:50 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

They will address additional days as they arise.
