Poetry and Music at Tim Hortons
Poetry and Music Night sponsored by the Write-On Writers Guild is Thursday, Oct. 18 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Tim Hortons, located at 131 Chestnut Street, Coshocton. Featured poet is Sarah M. Wells, author of Pruning Burning Bushes (2012), and a chapbook of poems, Acquiesce, winner of the 2008 Starting Gate Award (2009). Poems by Wells have appeared or are forthcoming in Alimentum, Ascent, Christianity & Literature, JAMA, Literary Mama, Measure, New Ohio Review, Nimrod, Poetry East, Puerto del Sol, and Rock & Sling. Sarah’s poetry has been honored with two Pushcart Prize nominations.
Sarah serves as the Administrative Director for the low-residency MFA program at Ashland University and Managing Editor for the Ashland Poetry Press and River Teeth: A Journal of Nonfiction Narrative.
Featured musician is Charlie Berwinkle from Dover, Ohio. Charlie has been a professional guitarist and teacher for over forty years. Specializing in music to relax by, his styles include classical and jazz and he also performed in Nashville at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention in 1999. He has studied with a contemporary of Segovia, world-renowned classical guitarist and with a renowned orchestra guitarist in Pittsburgh.
An October special will also feature Scott Craig Mooney reciting his poem, The Haven.
