COSHOCTON – Volunteers from the local swimming lessons program are appreciative of having a place to teach children water safety so every year they try to pay it forward to the pools.

“They let us use their pools so we want to say thank you,” said Sher Alloway, who coordinates the swimming lessons program.

On June 14 four new lifeguard umbrellas were presented to the Lake Park Aquatic Center. The volunteers also will be storing the umbrellas and rescue tubes for the pool this fall.

“We appreciate this so much,” said Emily Kobel, pool manager. “We love Sher. She is the best.”

Lake Park Head Pool Manager Rachel Schlarb requested the new lifeguard chair umbrellas. Pam Shroyer, Warsaw’s pool manager, asked that the volunteers stock their first aid kit this year.

“We had donated the large wall mount kit a couple years ago so the swim lesson volunteers will stock that as a thank you for the use of their pool for lessons.”
