Prayers said for the election, candidates, and the nation
A community prayer was held on Sunday evening, Nov. 1, at the Coshocton Christian Tabernacle. Pastors and church goers from various denominations gathered together to pray for the election, candidates, and the nation.
Casey Wright spoke and prayed with emotion and heartfelt sincerity as he began his prayer thanking God for hearing the prayers of His people, for God being present, and for God’s truth and will marching on in spite of the upheavals of life and the chaos that comes at times.
Bryan Kittner spoke on spiritual warfare before he prayed and stated that God’s agenda is the salvation of souls, and added “no matter who wins the election or what happens in the world, souls are always on God’s heart.”
Kittner went on to express that God has someone He wants to lead the country, someone He has chosen to fulfill the plans God has and to accomplish God’s will in the future. In addition, Kittner prayed against witchcraft and controlling forces.
“We pray for Your will to be done in this process. Stir within the hearts of people that they would vote their conscience. Guide and direct them in the election process,” Kittner said.
Carl Cutlip was tasked with teaching about, and praying for revival. Accordingly, he gave the Hebrew definition of “revival” as “to bring back to live, to restore to life.” He bluntly stated the reason revival is not happening is that churches have been about themselves, their denominations.
Cutlip explained “it’s not about a church, it’s about God. Revival is for a city, a town, a community to come together as one.”
“God chose you, not to live in the world according to the world’s way, but to live according to His ways. What are you doing with the invitation God has given you?“ implored Rocky Tidd as he spoke to the church about the church.
Tidd continued by saying there are too many silent Christians in the world today. “The world needs salvation, and God has given us everything we need to know about salvation in the bible,” he pointed out. Then, he urged, “Make disciples. If you aren’t making disciples, what are you doing?”
Mike Walters prayed for the media, for those in every facet of media (newspapers, television news reporters, etcetera) to come back to having a reverential fear of God, to speak and report truth, and to do so with honesty and integrity. Walters asked God to raise up men and women in media who will stand upon God’s word.
Voters, candidates, and leaders were prayed for as well as the evening came to a close.
