Presentation at Roscoe to focus on flood of 1913
COSHOCTON – The Roscoe Village Foundation will host a free event featuring facts and photos of the flood of 1913 on Saturday, March 25. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lock Landing located on the lower level of the visitor center.
Dave Snyder, curator of the Walhonding Valley Historical Society and Museum, will showcase the impact of the flood on the railroad via dioramas, photos, books and a slideshow. Two costumed interpreters will also be on hand with photos, paper clippings and books exhibiting the impact on the canal system. There will be a short lecture in the visitor center theater at 1 p.m. featuring Mrs. Jay LeRetilley (Alice Hoover). You are encouraged to ask questions and share your local history knowledge.
