Presiding Elder Errol Gregory Parker

Presiding Elder Errol Gregory Parker, affectionately known as “Pop” to many, age 76, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. He was born on September 19, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland to Alton B. Parker Jr., and Shirley V. (Stepteau) Parker.

Pres. Elder Errol was educated in the Baltimore City public school systems and worked for the City of Baltimore for many years. He became a member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob in April of 1975, in Baltimore Maryland.   He relocated to Coshocton, Ohio in 1985 and married Advanced Senior Mother Gladys Dianne (Long) Parker, who survives. After moving to Ohio, his first employment was with the Conesville Power Plant; and In 1991, he became employed with the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, where he served in many capacities including his most favorite, being a lifeguard at the Pool of Siloam for 27 years. He was also an entrepreneur and a practical, straight-forward man who enjoyed educating and training people on what he knew best, which was the “School of Life”.

Pres. Elder Errol leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Shirley Parker of Baltimore, MD, his children, Rhonda Penn of Baltimore, MD, Elderess Regina (Elder Raymond L.) Williams of Philadelphia, PA, Nicole D. Parker of Coshocton, OH, Deacon Amos Long of Duluth, GA, Elderess Ebony (Gary) Waugh of Lanham, MD, and Priscilla Parker of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Jordan, DJ, Kynescha, Marques, Christopher, Jazmine, and Amos Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings: Cornell (Catonne) Parker of Davenport, Florida, Sharon Parker of Baltimore, MD, and H. Edward Parker of Baltimore, MD; an Aunt, Verna M. Dorsey, an Uncle, Matthews W. Wright, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.

Along with his father, Pres. Elder Errol was preceded in death by Henry Parker, who raised him, his first wife Linda T. Parker, his son Philip A. Parker and brothers Bernard Davenport and Harold Parker.

A funeral service will be held at the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, First Tabernacle on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Honorary Senior Bishop James Matthias Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Machpelah Burial Acres. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
