Randy L. Simmons, 78, of Kimbolton passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

Randy was born in West Lafayette on Nov. 17, 1943, to the late Verner and Hannah (Young) Simmons.

He graduated from West Lafayette High School and retired from General Electric in Coshocton. In the 80s, he was an advanced EMT and reserve police officer for the Newcomerstown Police Department. Randy also was a bus driver for Ridgewood Schools for 30 years and coached basketball for Ridgewood, John Glenn, Harrison Central and Cambridge schools. He loved being a part of school sports and was the statistician for Ridgewood Football for 18 years.

Randy enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, raising and showing competition Labrador Retrievers.

He is survived by his son, Lance Simmons of Fresno; daughters, Jennifer (Paul) Robbins of West Lafayette and Ursula (Travis) Corbett of Newcomerstown; eight grandchildren, Abby (Andy) Beissel, Erinn Simmons, Marley Cumbee, Racheal (Michael) Kelley, Madison Robbins, Claire Corbett, Thane Robbins and Kelly Corbett; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gary (Anne) Simmons of West Lafayette.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Wilbur “Mark” Hale II; niece, Jill A. Simmons; and nephew, Craig A. Simmons.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Funeral services for Randy will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating.

A cremation will take place after the funeral services.
