Raymond Albert Bailey

PLAINFIELD – Raymond Albert Bailey, 91, of Plainfield passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Coshocton Springs Health and Rehab. He was born June 6, 1926 to the late Russell Bailey and Rosetta Dickerson (Charles) Parks. In 1950, he married Roberta (Angle) Bailey who passed away in 2007.

Raymond was a lifetime resident of Plainfield where he served as Mayor and a Village Councilman for many years. He retired from Coshocton Stainless in 1989 as a Traffic Manager. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed many activities in his life including being a locksmith, traveling out west, flying planes as a private pilot and tinkering in his garage.  He was a home builder and built the house he lived in his whole life. Raymond had the privilege of being a wedding officiant and marrying one of his grandchildren. He also was a caregiver for his wife in her final years of life.

Raymond is survived by his children, Karen Sue Vance of West Lafayette and Steven Bailey of Plainfield; half-brothers, Russ Bailey and Kenny Bailey; grandsons, Steven (Mindy) Bailey Jr. of Cincinnati, Christopher (Shelly) Shaw of Santa Rosa, CA, and Jason (Mickie) Shaw of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Ashley Shaw of Columbus, Riley Shaw of Columbus, Bethany Grace Shaw of Santa Rosa, CA., Gracie Raye Bailey of Cincinnati; brother-in-law, Larry (Betty) Angle of Stockton, CA., and sister-in-law, Irene (Frank)  Webb of Stevenson Ranch, CA.

Along with his parents and wife, Raymond is preceded in death by brother, Harold (Mary) Bailey and sister, Ruth Milhon and son-in-law, Rodney Vance.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 11am to 12pm at the Given- Dawson- Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
