Coshocton Regional Medical Center’s new urgent care offers patients low-cost walk-in visits, seven days a week with extended evening hours.

The new facility officially opened on Sept. 8 at 406 S. 15th St., Suite 2, Coshocton, across from the hospital. A ribbon cutting to mark the new addition to the hospital’s services was held on Sept. 3.
“This is a much-needed facility in our community,” said Amy Crown, executive director of the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce.
Stephanie Conn, CEO of the hospital, was excited to welcome everyone to the ribbon cutting.
“Thank you for coming out for the opening of our urgent care,” Conn said. “This has taken a long time of planning and preparing, but now starting Sept. 8, we will have a high-quality staff running it seven days a week. This will help people be seen quicker for issues that might not require a trip to the emergency room. Thank you to everyone who worked hard on this and for all the preparation that went into it.”
Coshocton Regional Medical Center’s urgent care will be able to care for patients after hours and on weekends when their doctor’s office is closed, providing a low-cost option for individuals that need to be seen by a medical provider and cannot wait until the next day or over a weekend.
The clinic also will create an option for individuals to seek care who do not have an established primary-care provider. Urgent care will provide a variety of services for patients with general illnesses and injuries including on-site X-ray for breaks or fractures and on-site EKGs. Results of on-site X-rays and EKGs will be interpreted during the patient’s visit, and a plan of care will be identified immediately.
“Accessible health care is very important to the city, along with technology and education,” Mayor Mark Mills said.
Mills encouraged everyone in the community to utilize the new resource.
“Even if you haven’t had the best experience here (at the hospital), give it a try,” Mills said. “Stephanie (Conn) and her team have worked hard to rebuild what’s here and make it even better. Like everything else, if we support each other, we all win.”
Max Crown, safety service director for the city, also addressed those involved with getting the urgent care started. “Thank you for the time you put in to get this up and running and for all the work you do at the hospital,” he said. “We appreciate all you do for our community.”
Urgent care’s hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. No appointments will be necessary. The clinic can be called at 740-623-4440.
