Garrett Rice son of Jeanette and Joe Rice of Coshocton signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Division III Bluffton University in Bluffton.

The Coshocton High School graduate began playing t-ball while at Lincoln Elementary and continued to grow and learn good sportsmanship up through high school said his parents who are both proud of his hard work.
In junior high and high school, Garrett went out for football, basketball and track as well but had a love for baseball.
Garrett was a three-year letterman at Coshocton in football and baseball. Academically he did well and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
“I’m really excited,” Garrett said. “I wanted another chance to play at college level.”
He applied at other colleges but having played in a baseball tournament for the American Legion #65 team at Bluffton, it was the school that stuck out for him.
Garrett plans to pursue a degree in education while at Bluffton.
“I would like to teach social studies and come back and coach for Coshocton,” he said.
“We are very proud of Garret Rice’s accomplishments here at CHS. He has been a great leader on and off the field and has served as a catalyst for our program over the past four years. We hope that he continues his great success at Bluffton University,” said Tim Fortney Coshocton High School Athletic Director.
