Richard D. Baumgardner

Richard D. Baumgardner, 89, of Coshocton passed away on Friday June 17, 2022, at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

He was born in Coshocton on October 26, 1932, to the late Ralph D. and Lilly Baumgardner.

Richard graduated from Coshocton High School in the class of 1950 and retired as a Mill Operator at AK Steel, Cleveland Cliffs in Coshocton after over 30 years of service.  Richard was also a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church, enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, and watching all of the Cleveland sports teams.

He is survived by his son Brent Baumgardner of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Shana (Jason), Misty, Shawn, and Devan (Kait); eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann Baumgardner who passed away on February 23, 2019; siblings Jack Baumgardner and Twila Shryock; daughter in law Tami Baumgardner.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Wednesday June 22, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bill Jones officiating.

A cremation will take place after the funeral services, and burial of his cremated remains will take place in South Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church, 422 Walnut St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
