Richard L. “Dick” Smalley

COSHOCTON – Richard L. “Dick” Smalley, 82 of Coshocton passed away at Lafayette Pointe Care Center in West Lafayette on Wednesday July 11, 2018.

Dick was born in Coshocton, Ohio on June 1, 1936 to the late Floyd and Carrie (Milligan) Smalley.

He served in the US Army Reserves and retired from Ohio Bell/AT&T.  Dick loved spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Dick is survived by his son John L.(Shell Pringle) Smalley of West Lafayette; daughter Linda S. (Thomas) Lafferty of Coshocton; sister Sheryl (Jim) Slaughter of Pearl; grandchildren Sarah (Kemp) Nolan, Ben (Heather) Lafferty, Erik (Erin) Lafferty, Michael (Brittanie) Lafferty, Kira Smalley and Shawn Smalley; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Janice R. (Pritchard) Smalley whom he married July 27, 1956.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday July 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Funeral services for Dick will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Mark Granger officiating.  Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors..
