Ridgewood discusses hiring resource officers

The Ridgewood Local School Board met in regular session on June 13, at the administration building.

During public participation,  resident  Ed Chapdelaine of West Lafayette addressed the board concerning school security.  Also present were Police Chief Chris Walters and Mayor Stephen Bordenkircher. A discussion was held about hiring a resource officer for the school district. Details are to be discussed and presented at a later date. Treasurer Jay Tingle presented routine financial items approved by the board. A donation of $200 was approved from Maggie Mizer to the Ridgewood FFA.

Superintendent Mike Masloski reported on the following items approved by the board: Administrative contracts for Joanna Seek (three years), Shirley Smith (three years), and Todd Stoffer (one year); Cale Roberts and Memphis Cutshall as summer workers; Kimberly Dillon and Jane Jones as classified subs for 2022/23 school year; Cathy Cutshall from RMS second shift custodian to RES second shift custodian; Susie Blackstone to RMS second shift custodian;  and extended service to Jill Bryan, Home EC (10 days), Jamie Davis, speech (10 days), Sue Davis and Logan Pyers Vo Ag (60 days each), Leslie Dulgar RMS guidance (10 days); Stacy Ionna, RHS guidance, (20 days); John Lindig, music (10 days).

The next regular board meeting will be Thursday, June 30, at 8 a.m. at the administration building, 301 Oak St., West Lafayette, Ohio, 43845.
