Ridgewood present ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’
Ridgewood Performing Arts will be presenting Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Friday through Sunday, April 11-13. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 and April 12 and at 2:30 p.m. on April 13. Tickets are $10 and are available at ridgewoodperformingarts.ludus.com and at the door.
Music for the play is by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics are by Tim Rice.
Haley Evans, director of the production, said they always try to choose a show that the students will excel in and one that they will enjoy. “”Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ is such a fun show and we are looking forward to returning to it. It was the second show that Ms. (Jill) Collins and I directed together in my second year teaching and it’s always been one of our favorites.”
Evans said, “We took a trip to Toronto with Catherine Miller and the school STRIVE program and saw ‘Joseph’ there with Donny Osmond there.”
Fifty students, in third through 12th grade, are involved with the play. “We are so lucky to have Shannon Folkert teaching at Ridgewood and we knew that we would be able to have a robust youth chorus of elementary and middle school students with her involvement,” Evans said. “It is definitely the right show for this group of students.”
The show will be held in the Jill Collins Performing Arts Center at Ridgewood High School. For information, email Evans at haley.evans@ridgewood.k12.oh.us or visit the performing arts Facebook page.
