River View Board approves personnel changes
WARSAW – The River View Board of Education met on June 28 for a special meeting.
Several agenda items were approved including: Approved the recommendation to change the secretary calendar for Lisa Crawford, Conesville secretary, from 206 days to 200 days; approved the recommendation to move Sarah Lindsey, high school physical education teacher to the position of high school guidance counselor, effective July 31; approved the recommendation of 20 extended days for high school guidance counselor, Sarah Lindsey for the 2017 – 2018 school year; approved the resignation of Joe Alford, high school science teacher and eighth grade football coach, effective Aug. 13; approved the resignation of Aaron Smith, freshman football coach, effective June 27; approved the recommendation to hire Kelly Endsley, Conesville Intervention Specialist, effective Aug. 14, pending completion of background check and all paperwork; and approved the recommendation to approve the administrative salaries (.75 percent increase) as submitted.
Personnel changes for the 2017 – 2018 school year are: Angie Mitchell from art and gifted teacher at Keene/Conesville to gifted teacher for all elementary buildings; Sarah Fornara from art and gifted teacher at Union/Warsaw to third grade teacher at Union; Kecia Buxton from Careers teacher at junior high to language arts teacher at junior high; and Wesley Shontz from language arts teacher at junior high to social studies teacher at junior high.
The board also approved the recommendation to change CJ Hammond’s bus route from Pleasant Valley/Conesville area to Warsaw area; hours will be decreased from 7.5 hours daily to 6.75 hours daily with possible increase in time not to exceed 7.5 hours daily. They also approved the recommendation to hire Randy Leist as Pleasant Valley/Conesville area driver; hours will be six hours daily with possible increase in time not to exceed 6.75 hours daily.
Final approvals for the meeting included: Approved shared services with the Coshocton County Career Center for bus maintenance services; field trip transportation and administrative coordination for the 2017 – 2018 school year and approved shared services with Hopewell School for bus maintenance services and field trip transportation for the 2017 – 2018 school year.
