River View Board of Education meets

WARSAW – The River View Board of Education met April 13.

The treasure’s report included approving the following donations for the month of March: Bonnie Infante for Math Club – $10; Crowtown Takeover for Math Club – $325; anonymous to pay off student account for F.S. – $515; RVJHS Student Council for JH OMUN – $200; River View Music Boosters for transportation – $278.47; Coca-Cola Refreshments for sponsorship – $2,500; Robert Herron donated black bear for lobby.

During the superintendent’s report the recommendation was approved to not continue as the fiscal agent for the Coshocton County Alternative School for the 2017-2018 school year. It also was approved to allow the superintendent and treasurer to take the necessary action to implement a reduction in expenditures for the 2017 – 2018 school year.

School board members approved the recommendation of the following for coaching positions for the 2017-2018 school year: Varsity Asst. Volleyball – Carolyn Daugherty; JV Volleyball – Renee Miller; Freshman Volleyball – Megan Philabaum; Eighth Grade Volleyball – Kelsey Willoughby; Seventh Grade Volleyball – Deanna Vickers; Varsity Basketball Boys Head Coach – Josh Bowman; Varsity Basketball Girls Head Coach – Marty Bice; Varsity Asst. Basketball Boys – Marcus Olinger; Varsity Asst. Basketball Girls – Rebecca Smith; JV Basketball Boys – Todd Liberatore; JV Basketball Girls – Mike Albertson; Varsity Football Head Coach – Mike Hemming; and Strength Coach – Mike Hemming.

It also was approved for the board of education to pay pool rental to Coshocton High School at a cost of $4,000 for the 2017-2018 school year. The athletic department will cover custodial cost and swim boosters will cover lifeguard expenses. They also agreed to reinstate the 2017-2018 Pay to Participate program fee guidelines.
