River View, Newark, Heath swimmers meet

COSHOCTON – The River View Black Bears boys and girls swim teams both defeated Newark and Heath during a tri-meet that they hosted on Dec. 21 at the Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium.

For the girls, Carolyn Cox won both the 200 IM (3:06.71) and the 100 Back (1:21.95), Lindsey Ashcraft won the 400 Free (5:36.79) and the 100 Breast (1:27.55), Jesse Vandenbark won the 50 Free (31.59), Emily Jacobs was third in the IM (3:34.83), Rachel Vandenbark was second (35.87), and Faith Untied third (36.47) in the 50 Free, Kyara Roberts was second (1:42.23), with Shelby Barnett coming in third (2:04.61) in the 100 Fly, and Katie Hardesty was third in the 400 Free (5:56.23).

The group of Cox, Ashcraft, Josie Fornara, and J. Vandenbark won the Medley (2:27.50) and the 200 Free (2:13.41) relays. Hardesty, Calli Bates, Untied, and Ally Helmick were third in the 200 Free (2:25.94), and R. Vandenbark, Roberts, Hardesty, and Jacobs were third in the 400 Free relay.

Individually for the boys, Jake Mitchell won the 200 Free (2:19.66), Caleb Fischer won both the 100 Fly (1:07.95) and the 100 Breast (1:13.97), Reas Pepper won the 200 IM (2:56.37), Andrew Martin won the 50 Free (29.66), Dylan Harsh won the 400 Free (5:35.23), Brady Philabaum won the 100 Back (1:24.79), Brody Fischer was third in the IM (3:13.90), JT Roberts was third in the 50 Free (31.24), Mitchell was second in the 100 Fly (1:09.43), Kaden Poorman was second (1:08.97) and Lane Wahl third (1:13.77) in the 100 Free, and Brayden Karr was third (1:30.59) in the 100 Breast.

The Medley Relay of Roberts, Karr, Martin, and Pepper was first (2:21.03), and Philabaum, B. Fischer, Brice Cross, and Lincoln Shroyer was second (2:36.45), the 200 Free Relay of Mitchell, Martin, Pepper, and C. Fischer was first (1:55.78), and B. Fischer, Eric Jacobs, Karr, and Roberts were second (2:18.47), and the 400 Free Relay of Pepper, Harsh, C. Fischer, and Mitchell was first (4:29.63), while Jacobs, Sawyer Neal, Wahl, and Poorman were third (4:59.96).
