River View picks up victory over Waynedale

WARSAW – A walk-off led the River View Lady Bears Varsity past Waynedale 5-4 on March 30. The game was tied at four with River View batting in the bottom of the seventh when a sacrifice bunt by Mikensi Ehlinger scored one run for River View.

Waynedale scored three runs in the first inning, but River View still managed to pull out the victory. In the bottom of the fifth inning, River View tied things up at four. An error scored one run for River View and they then tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Mikala Ehlinger and Alyssa Thomas each had RBIs in the frame.

Thomas got the start for River View. She went seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out three.

River View hit one home run on the day. Claire Warschauer went deep in the first inning. Ehlinger went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead River View.
