River View places in top five at Coshocton Invite

COSHOCTON – The River View Swimming teams competed in the Coshocton Invitational at Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium on Saturday, Dec. 8. The boys placed third overall out of ten teams with 51 points, and the girls were fourth out of 16 with a total of 44.

Scoring points individually for the girls’ team were Lindsey Ashcraft, third in both the 50 free (30.89) and the 100 Breast (1:28.90), Carolyn Cox, third in the 100 Back (1:18.96), and fourth in the 200 Free (2:42.60), Josie Fornara, third in the 100 Fly (1:24.84), and Katie Hardesty, sixth in the 200 Free (2:45.35).

The 200 Medley Relay group of Cox, Ashcraft, Fornara, and Rachel Vandenbark was third (2:24.30), while Cox, Ashcraft, Fornara, and Kyara Roberts were third in the 200 Free (2:11.44), and Fornara, Michaella White, Roberts, and Hardesty were also third in the 400 Free (5:08.26).

Top six individual places for the boys include Brady Philabaum, second in the 100 Back (1:15.78) and sixth in the 400 Free (5:42.32), Cole Tatro, second in the 100 Fly (1:13.79), Reas Pepper, third in the 200 Individual Medley (2:46.25), Brayden Karr, fifth in the 100 Breast (1:25.62), Brody Fischer, fifth in the 100 Fly (1:29.06), JT Roberts, fifth in the 100 Back (1:21.70), Luke Massie, sixth in the 100 Back (1:24.90), and Lincoln Shroyer, sixth in the 50 Free (29.11).

The Medley Relay of Roberts, Karr, Tatro, and Shroyer was second (2:14.66), Coen Bible, Philabaum, Tatro, and pepper were second in the 400 Free Relay (4:23.24), and Bible, Karr, Shroyer, and Pepper were third in the 200 Free Relay (1:56.09).

The Black Bears will be back in the pool on Saturday, Dec. 15 in Zanesville for the Tri-Valley Holiday Relays, before hosting their first home meet on Dec. 19.
