River View shuts out Zanesville

WARSAW – Peyton Werntz threw a shutout to lead the River View Lady Bears softball team past Zanesville 10-0 on April 9.

River View got things started in the first inning. Gracie Dunlap grounded out, scoring one run. The Lady Bears then put up four runs in the fifth inning. River View was led by Kelsie Williamson and Dunlap, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Werntz earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for River View. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out six.

River View tallied 11 hits. Lauren KrystekBella Heddleson, and Dunlap each managed multiple hits for River View. DunlapHeddleson, and Krystek each collected two hits to lead River View.

The Lady Bears were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Mikensi Ehlinger made the most plays with seven.
